Essay #4
Prompt 19. What is your favorite movie and why? Write an essay persuading readers to watch this film.

A Sight to See
The movie “The Lion King” is my favorite movie. It’s a great movie, which brings all emotion into one story, such as sadness, comedy, love, and so much more. It fit perfectly in the genre Action/Adventure, Comedy, Kids/Family, Musical/Performing Arts, Romance and Animation. It is the story of life challenges, and facing those challenges with your all. Although this move is an animated film by Disney, children as well as adults can learn from this movie. The main lesson, this movie teaches us is don’t run a way from who you.
“The Lion King” is such a great movie that it was played at the movie theaters twice. It first came out June 15, 1994 making $783,841,776 then again in 2005 making nearly twice the amount of money. On October 7, 2003 Lion King, 2-Disc Special Edition DVD was released. This movie is so good in fact that almost a year after it came out it was turned into a play which still travel around the word today. If you were to take a poll on I, it would be at least eight people out of ten that gives these movie two thumbs up.
The movie “The Lion King” is about a young lion cub named Simba, who runs away after the tragic death of his father. He runs away from his life, for the fears that the death of his father was his fault. He lived with the guilt for a long time until his past comes to find him. There is a big turning point of the story when an old friend of his father’s who happens to be a baboon, tells him two important things. In the scene, he tells him “He lives in you” which in that case he was referring to Simba’s father and in the other scene he hits samba in the head with a stick and when samba rubs his head and asked him why he’d don it. Next he told him “it doesn’t matter, it’s in the pass now” which helps samba to stop being afraid of the past and to move on. Such simple word, yet much meaning.
The lion king is filled with much excitement. It might not keep you at the edge of you seat but you’d never end up falling to sleep as you watch it. In a since it is a animated piece of art, something that when you look at it, it creates emotions inside of you and forces you to think. Makes you think about life, and how to live it. Watching this movie would not be a waste of your time. It might just be a kids/ Disney movie, but it teaches us all a lesion. Not all will learn the same lesion but you will lean. It would be an unforgettable experience.
